Walterscheid 615088 | WWE 2480 Series constant velocity PTO driveline designed for selected John Deere round balers. This driveline features a tractor-side CV joint with 1-3/8" x 21-spline connection, S4GA/S5 star-profile tubing, and an implement-side 1800 Nm slip clutch with 1-3/8" x 6-spline connection.

The WWE 2480 single-CV design provides smooth power transfer through changing PTO operating angles, while the implement-side friction clutch helps protect the baler driveline from damaging overloads. This heavy-duty configuration is built for demanding round baler applications where dependable torque transmission, smooth operation, and driveline protection are critical.

Why use a CV PTO driveline?
The tractor-side constant velocity joint allows the PTO shaft to operate smoothly through larger working angles than a conventional driveline. This helps reduce vibration and uneven power delivery when turning or when the tractor and baler are operating at an angle to one another.

Important – Driveline configuration:
The standard 615088 configuration has the CV joint on the tractor end with a 1-3/8" x 21-spline Small 1000 connection. The opposite end connects to the baler through an 1800 Nm friction clutch with a 1-3/8" x 6-spline implement connection. This configuration corresponds with the commonly referenced John Deere AE74295N / AE74295SPL driveline family.

Alternate configurations:
The same WWE 2480 driveline platform can be configured for additional baler applications by changing the appropriate end-yoke or friction-clutch connection. Selected Case IH and New Holland round balers use a related 1000 RPM arrangement with a 21-spline tractor connection and 21-spline implement-side clutch connection. Some original New Holland configurations also use a free-rotation style tractor yoke to make PTO hookup easier. John Deere 568 and 569 applications also require the appropriate alternate clutch-side connection rather than the standard 615088 6-spline implement setup.
